Hui Wa’a Outrigger Canoe and Kayak (HWOCK) offers members to participate in a healthy and organized program of physical fitness on the water. Made up of a diverse group of members, from ages 19-75, this is truly a family sport that can be enjoyed by all. HWOCK offers all levels of fitness paddling, for those that excel to be highly competitive with the desire to compete at the international level, to others that simply want the chance to exercise and meet new friends.
We have one of the top coaching staffs in California, HWOCK encourages and promotes good sportsmanship among members and teams, and has shown over the years to be one of the more dynamic and winning clubs in Northern California.
Junior Program
HWOCK is restarting their Junior’s Program for 2011. Starting in team boats, we’ll also be encouraging members to learn other paddling disciplines that include Surfski and Olympic Flatwater Canoe & Kayak. Our goal is to produce some young athletes that participate at the National and International level.
Juniors age from 10-19 years old and can paddle year round based on their goals.

Membership Dues
Membership dues for the outrigger paddling program are $250 per year. The dues cover facilities costs, upkeep of the club’s fleet of OC6 (6-man) and OC1 (1-man) Hawaiian/Tahitian outrigger canoes, safety equipment, and paddles. The coaching staff is among the top in California and completely volunteer. Dues are less than many monthly gym memberships and enable you to enjoy an organized, safe, and competitive paddling program with views of the Bay that would easily beat what you see out of any gym window.
